You can see Peterborough Cathedral in the skyline, towering above the city centre as you drive into Peterborough. It has been a place of worship and prayer for 1350 years and the Cathedral itself is 900 years old.
Peterborough Cathedral is the resting place of Katherine of Aragon, Henry VIII’s first wife and was also the resting place of Mary Queen of Scots. Peterborough Museum

Peterborough Museum is one of the most historic buildings in Peterborough, once a home to the rich of Peterborough, then a hospital and now a museum. The original operating room can still be visited inside the museum along with over 200,000 items of great national and international importance.
It is free to enter the Peterborough Museum; however you are welcome to leave a small donation. There is also a lovely, quiet cafe serving sandwiches, cakes, scones and hot beverages. The Art Gallery can be found inside the museum too, with regularly changing art exhibitions.

Ferry Meadows

If you like large green areas then Ferry Meadows is for you. Just a short journey from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, you can find the relaxation of Ferry Meadows. There are lots of walks to enjoy, two cafes, bike hire opportunities, play parks, ducks to feed, boat trips and mini train trips too.
Ferry Meadows is a popular place for large outdoor events too, so keep your eyes peeled for classic car shows, fetes and fairs. Ferry Meadows is free to visit, but you do need to pay to park, and for additional activities.

These are just three fabulous places that you must visit during your stay in Peterborough, but of course there are many, many more. There is a Tourism Office in Peterborough city centre and they can recommend other places to visit, dependent on your likes and interests.
